I believe I’m starting to develop dinos AGAIN. I don’t know why though?!? The last time it was in my 29 gallon. I believed they took ahold because I had a couple corals did and I did a sizeable water change which likely bottomed out my nutrients. I was able to ID the strain and fought them off with my UV.

I since started up a Red Sea Reefer 250 back in April of this year. It was FOWLR until I added two pieces of ocean live rock. One had a coral on it and the other has a light bulb anemone. I had to move the nem to the sump because the rock also had a gorilla crab in it. The nem died in the sump (no light) and the coral is dying as well (but I don’t really care about the coral). I’m starting to see signs of dinos again.

I can guarantee my nutrients aren’t bottomed out. I haven’t done a single W/C since the tank went up and I feed heavy. I top off with RO/DI water that comes from a four stage and tests at 0 TDS. I just want to know what else can cause dinos to take a foothold other than low nutrients.

P.S. - They also started growing in my coral QT. I had one of the four corals in QT die. But that was a few weeks ago. As with my DT the QT has never had a water change. The only common denominator between the two is my top off water.
