I have a 47 gallon RedSea Reefer 170 with protein skimmer, 2 media reactors, and a smart ATO. I also have all the equipment needed for testing water parameters. The tank has been up for almost 2 months now and has gone through 1 diatom bloom and is now almost 100% clean. I have 1 pulsing Xenia, 1 palythoa, and a small CUC in the tank that seem to be doing well, along with 2 ocellaris clowns. What else do I need before I buy other corals? Also what are some really cool corals that will help get this tank going!?

Great choice. Some fantastic beginner corals are plating montipora, leathers, zoanthids, frogspawn, hammers, and Duncan’s. They’re all nice looking corals that will help add color and movement to your tank and I hope that you can pick some you like from that list. Zoanthids literally have an unlimited amount of color variations which is awesome.

awesome thank you

Just be careful with the Xenia because it can and will take over your entire tank. You can easily peal it off the rocks and trade to a friend or possibly your LFS.
