What epoxy do you use to mount frags?

I don't want to use glue. I need something strong! My urchin pops glued frags off! HA!

Umm, boss, epoxy is glue.

Perhaps you've been around too much glue. :p

For a stronger glue bond I take the puddy stick and make a comparable to frag size ball and use that with a mix of glue. Found even the puddy only 1's were hit n miss on stickin. Seems to work well for me. Goes glue puddy glue. The puddy is the stronghold glue holds it in place.

I've used the LFS epoxy sticks in the past (the Aquastik, to name one), but now buy the epoxy at HD (or other box stores). You get a better bang for the buck. I've used both Oatey Fix-it-stick (the better deal) and Rectoseal's epoxy stick.

I use jb water weld. I make a small ball of the epoxy and put a bit of superglue gel on the plug or coral and attach the ball to it. I then use a little more superglue gel on the bottom of the ball and then push it onto the rock. The superglue helps hold things in place while the epoxy cures.

I've also done the addition of cyanoacrylate (superglue) to the epoxy as well. It definitely helps in the initial "stick" of the frag and rock.

Also depending on which epoxy you decide to use make sure to keep an eye on your skimmer. Some will make the skimmer go crazy and overflow. This is one reason I like the jb water weld, it doesn't seem to effect the skimmer much in my experience.

Force of will, I just tell them to stay on the plug then give them a very stern looks. For the troublesome ones I may even throw in a finger pointing.

LOL! Well I'm just going off the fact that BRS differentiates between them! :p

Rectorseal and superglue gel for me. Drop of superglue on frag, stick that to small ball of epoxy and drop of superglue on epoxy to help hold on rocks.
