OK, ever since the fraud issue I had to deal with on Reef2reef, I have little tolerance for people who tell me they are going to do something and don't. Anyhow, I bought a custom tank the beginning of Feb. It was supposed to be done 4 weeks from then. Then the weather got cold and I guess the seams take longer to cure when it's cold...ok, I understand. So the tank is ready and I was told delivery would be Tues. No contact from the dealer (who I won't name yet) Tues night, nothing Wed, and I had tried to contact him by phone, email, and text with no response. I finally got an answer by text last night after I insisted he contact me. Now shipping has been moved to this weekend, but it's supposed to rain so no delivery. I have someone who bought my tank and has given me 50% deposit, they want their tank too but I'm not going to tear my tank apart and put everything in the sump and have to leave it there until this guy decides he can deliver. Not really fond of the idea of loosing all my livestock. I have even already paid the delivery fee. What would you all do? PS: I still need to plumb this tank so it is going to take that much longer until the guy can pick up the tank he bought from me. Now I'm looking bad since I told him he could probably pick up this weekend.

I'm not ready to name names quite yet. Just want other's thoughts.

I actually think you might be making too much of this. Part of having anything custom built is accepting that it isn't something that ispulled off the shelf and shipped to your door. There always variables and things that could go wrong, or just take a little longer than expected. I would rather have delivery be a little late than have a product delivered that is less than what I was expecting.

Granted, the vendor could have been a little more responsive to your attempts at communication but we don't know what was going on with them either.

Maybe I am but don't tell me you are going to be there with my tank and not show up or call me for two days. The tank is finished, that isn't the problem. I'm more irritated about the lack of contact when I was home waiting on him to come. Left work early and everything to be there.
