I have 120gal aquarium 72Lx1Wx24H I have Radion g4 pro and about a month ago added 4 t5 lamp . I used the hybrid fixture. I have the t5 on for 2hours 2-4 and I don’t see much difference can someone explain that uses hybrid how they have it setup and did they see a difference?

I recently swapped in a T5 hybrid fixture with my XR15s. I have the T5's running for 5 hours (11a-4p). That's usually when I'm not home so I don't have to see the tank with the dead T5 lighting look. My corals have already shown response in the 10 days since the fixture went up. I also adjusted my XR15 schedule so that I still get the color I want when the T5s come on.

I have 3 AI primes with a 4 foot Aquatic life T5 fixture making it a hybrid system. I run two coral plus and two blue plus T5s. Typical I’ll run them for 7 hours and the AI primes for 9 hours. I’ve noticed that when using the T5 and led combon it makes a huggeeee difference with growth for Sps mainly Acropora colonies. It anecdotal in my part but just my experience

I would suggest running your T5 supplements for at least 6 hours. At just 2 hours a day of supplemental T5 lighting, why even bother?

With 4 bulbs, you’ll have to turn down your radions a good amount if you run your t5 for a decent amount of time. I agree, should be more than 2 hours. I would aim 6-8 hours and turn your radions as needed with the guidance of a par meter.

It may not make much difference in the early stages, but as your corals grow the diffuse lighting that t5 gives should help more abs more.

I have the T5 hybrid with a Hydra 26HD. I am running the AB+ schedule on my Hydra. It starts at 9:00 am and ramps up for 1 hour, then my T5's come on. At 3:00 pm, I turn all white, red, and green off on my Hydra. At 6:00 pm my T5's turn off. At 6:30 pm my Hydra starts a 30 minute ramp down. I set my Hydra to acclimation mode starting at a 50% reduction and acclimating over 4 weeks.

I like my t5's better than my leds. Less adjusts much better coverage .

I've seen some nice tanks with LED (Radion), but I prefer the T5HO (Sunpower 8 bulb) for my SPS tank. I like the color and growth I get. Some drawbacks to heat added to tank in summer if the room runs warm (IN-room Heat/AC unit for me).

Sincerely,

David
