I'm trying to get pictures of some nocturnal critters. Just like orange filters for blue light, what lens filters would work for taking pictures under red lights?

you shouldn't have strong red lights on at night, they can still see it you know, you should have very low light to nothing for the best night day cycle. anyways, filters work by partially "blocking" a spectrum of light. If there is only red light, then a filter will just make it super dark. Use a weak flashlight IMO

Thank you but your answer has been mislead by assumptions. (I've done that myself.) So let me ask this in a more succinct manner, do any of the photo gurus know of a filter to use for correcting color balance while photographing under red lights?

Green filter would be the choice. Now I’m not too sure how many green filters there are.
