While I don't have a FOWLR active right now, I am building a 125G FOWLR for Split Fin Flashlight Fish! I have a build thread right here, while it isn't extremely active because all the remaining parts are super expensive, I try and put information that I've learned while talking to @Jay Hemdal over the past couple months since there's been a couple things he's found since he wrote the piece for Coral Magazine but mainly because Flashlight Fish are heavily misunderstood in the aquarium hobby care wise because people usually throw them into their reef tanks or other improper setups. I'll update the thread really soon since the QT tank is almost up!

I currently have only four tanks running. About a year ago I was up to seven, one being freshwater. My fw may have been the best looking tank I've ever done. It's a 45-bowfront and I invested in a museum-grade in-tank background. I custom built the cabinet in a matching bowfront shape. I gave that entire setup to my youngest daughter. If you'll pardon the freshwater diversion, I think it deserves sharing some pics...

Here's a 54-corner FOWLR I had for close to a year. Had to shut it down and sell it to make room for the big 215.
Those fakies were expensive, but I kept them and still use them in the big 215 peninsula. The dragon has become a one-of-a-kind. I don't believe it's produced anymore and it's the only one I've ever seen. Had to work hard to get the PetSmart store to sell it to me. It still had a UPC tag and was only in that store's system. I have no idea how long it had been there.

This is my current FOWLR. It's a 90-gal running on an Oase Biomaster 850 Thermo, Coralife TurboTwist 12x UV, Hygger aux return pump, and Fiji HOB refugium DIY modified as an algae scrubber. The cabinet is another custom build of mine.

I have not decided yet on the fate of this 215-gallon. I will probably go back to fish and softies, after I conclude hyposalinity. This tank setup ran over six months behind schedule due to the tank manufacturer delays. That resulted in several fish that were being housed in other tanks outgrowing their environments. I had started losing fish due to stress and overcrowding before the 215 ever got wet. Within a couple months I had somehow transferred in the worst case of Ich I've yet to encounter. It wiped out half my livestock, including the first Yellow Tang I ever bought. So right now, this tank is running hyposalinity and has undergone multiple formalin treatments. Things are looking better!

This is, or was, actually my QT. It's a 28-gal bowfront that will soon go back to being FOWLR. I just love this tank and keep it in my bedroom. When ich hit the big 215 I needed a place to put the corals I didn't kill with the first round of formalin. So in a panic, I setup the QT using some rock I had saved from previous tanks, Matrix media and Seachem Stability bacteria in an Oase Biomaster 600 Thermo. Two hours later I tossed in corals and most of them are pulling through.
So I added a couple fish for temporary housing that will eventually migrate to the 215 when salinity is restored there.

For now the livestock in this tank are...

Clown Triggerfish
Molly Miller Blenny
Cleaner Shrimp
Mexican Turbo Snails
One big ball of Chaeto
Rescued corals (Leather, GSP, Mushrooms, Zoa Garden, Favia)

With this being the FOWLR forum. Curious to know what fish you have in your tanks, and what size the tanks are!?

My tank should be ready for stocking within the month

I have a 300 with : panther grouper, snowflake eel, pinktail trigger, undulated trigger, rectangular trigger, yellow tang, yellow belly blue hippo tang, mason tang, magnificent foxface, porcupine puffer, starry blennie, maroon clown hosting bubble tip, saddleback hosting carpet anemone, and domino damsel hosting long tentacle anemone. Guess it’s not truly a FOWLR because it has several softies as I’ve found the fish don’t bother softies much and they give it a more natural look and movement

Currently I have a 180g with a snowflake eel, blue spotted puffer, and yellow tang. The eel keeps to itself but the puffer and tang like to hang out.

I have a 120 G tank with lots of live rocks . It must be at least 5 years old, upgraded from a 75G.
Currently I have 14 fish
7 green chromis,
1 hippo tang (Dory)
2 ocellaris clownfish
1foxface rabbitfish
1 sixline wrasse
1 humbug dascyllus (fourstriped Damsel)
1Eibli pigmy angelfish

My favorite varies from day to day.

The chromis are spaying regularly which is fun to watch.
I enjoyed searching for the sixline wrasse and the Eibli angelfish as they tend to play hide and seek in the rocks.
The tang and the rabbit fish are beautiful to look at.
The clownfish are cute and very active.
The black and white damsel is very old. I inherited from a friend, so it was my first saltwater fish.

In a small 20 G I have a starry blennie. His companions 2 beautiful fire fish died a while back when that tank sprang a leak. The transfer from tank to bucket, back to tank stressed them to death.

Will be adding some more fish and then will post some new pics. In the meantime currently populated with tangs, angels, couple of heniochus butterflies and some other misc. W/B adding a Harlequin Tusk, Gem, Purple and 2 triggers as well as a paddle fin wrasse in the next month or so.

200 gallon Rimless tank 150 lb's of liverock, no substrate. Protein skimmer, filter socks, ceramic balls, uv light, refuge. Running 4 years heading on 5 in feb
