A sand sifter goby is interesting to watch. A pj cardinal is unique but doesn't do much. What small fish fall more in the interesting group?
Blennies!

My longnose hawkfish is always interesting despite mostly just perched at some of the weirdest places in the tank (aka cleaner magnets), you never know what it will want to do next

(As for larger fish) my foxface is full of personality pecking at rocks and checking out the other fish in the tank

Valentini puffer, like a little lost puppy dog. Clowns are always goofy as well but we probably take that for granted at this point.

Not small, but blue hippo tangs are also super goofy. I can't believe the tight spaces mine wedges herself into, sometimes backwards and upside down.

Diamond watchman goby, I pity the snail or crab that enters its cave, he carries them across the tank in his mouth and spits them out. It happens so fast, I wish I could get a video.
I’ve seen my Yellow Watchman grab both my Flame Hawk and my Blue Tang by the face in an attempt to drag them into his lair. I’m convinced the only reason he was unsuccessful is because the entrance is too small. I guess he’s a bit overprotective of his Tiger Shrimp.

My Clownfish and Springeri Damsels are in trouble if they get too close.

woah how big does a YWG have to be to grab a flame hawk and blue tang??

He's not very big. 2-2.5 inches maybe. The Tang and the Hawk are still relatively small as well. About the same length as the Goby, but obviously shaped completely different. They just need to learn not to peck around for food in front of the Goby's house.

The Tiger shrimp is actually worse. He'll kidnap anything that crawls by and fits in the hole, and has tried to drag in snails that are entirely too big to fit. I've had at least a half-dozen small snails go missing since he was introduced.

My stippled clingfish (Gobiesox punctulatus) normally assumes a drab, muddy-brown coloration and hides behind my overflow, staying completely still. However, when it notices me, it darts out, flares its white facial markings, and starts wagging its tail like a dog to grab my attention.
