what fish are the most fun to watch?

I’ll have to add long nose hawk to the list.
They perch a lot, but also will swim along the top levels for periods of time. One of the fish that got me into saltwater.

Clowns, cryptic wrasses and Anthias are my favorites. Possum wrasses and Skunk-type clowns specifically. Bot are more docile than their pugnacious relatives, and some possums can even do well in groups.

My diamond watchman gobie is the most fun to watch. I know they get a bad wrap, but watching my 6 line wrasse hunting around the rocks is also fun. I may be lucky, but I’ve had one for years and have yet seen the aggression I’ve seen people express.

Mine is my Oranfe Diamond Goby we named himBob the builder as he never stops shifting sand ,he built a bunker we he thought the Russains were coming lol

Second the Diamond Goby. Also the Royal Gramma. Mine will swim upside down with rock orientation all the time. Diamond Goby is always digging and busy.

Clownfish , kole tangs , foxface , gobies , yellow tang , hammerhead sharks , orcas , beluga whales , barracudas , cryptic wrasses , thresher sharks , green sea turtles, moorish idols , etc .

everything in my tank, with the exception of the clownfish and chromis, have personality of some type. i have 2 diamond goby that do nothing but work all day. they generally get pestered by my bi color angel. its like a game of "im not touching you" that siblings play with each other. the bi color angel, when hes not antagonizing everyone, likes to swim through holes and around things, which is fun to watch. my bi color blenny likes to perch everywhere. i have found that most blenny will follow (or actually chase) your finger or cloth when you go back and forth on the front of the glass. algae/sailfin/lawnmower blenny likes to perch and be overall inquisative. clown goby, as someone mentioned above, likes to find places to perch, and is pretty interactive when you come to the tank.

This is easy for me to say, and my reasoning is all in these threads below!

In general all 6 of my gobies are fun to watch and all behave differently. My 6 gobies include:
Trimma tevegae (Pair)
Koumansetta hectori
Stonogobiops yasha
Gobiodon acicularis
Discordipinna griessingeri

I don’t recommend a griessingeri due to their size and being lost in a tank larger than a 20g. The Trimma genus is much better as they prefer groups of 3-5 and can be with other Trimma species (I.E. you could have a group of 3 Trimma tevegae and a group of 4 Trimma cana with a pair of Trimma benjamini).

Actually, an eel is a fish! I had a snowflake eel on my stocking list, until my wife got wind of it. Then it was no eel for me!

Never thought enough about that. They are 'ray-finned fish'. So I stand corrected, thanks!
The snowflakes are great. They don't have the fangs, sharp teeth as most moray. If you keep them well fed they won't bother their usual food sources in your tank, i.e. emerald crabs, hermits,etc. Only drawback is their fast movements often cause them to bump into any coral that are in the way. Have yet to lose a coral due to this though.
