My tank is 160 litres so roughly 42 gallons

it’s a reef tank with soft and lps corals.

I currently have stocked:

x1 clown
X3 cromis
X1 goby
X1 leopard wrasse
Plus a few inverts

what other fish would be suitable and how many more so I don’t get over stocked.

How do your fish get along now? 6 fish in a 42 is getting to the limit IMO, by adding another you take a chance to upset the happy balance of the tank.

They all seem fine. There’s plenty of hiding spots.

have found that Royal grammas are good neutral - colorful tank mates - neither aggressive or take too much grief

good in the mid water, and eat a variety of foods

I’ve always read and have been told they were complete opposite .
But I think it would depend on tank mates .

Certainly tanks and individuals can vary. However I make it a point to have one in every tank that I have and I’ve only seen issues between them and other basslets
and indeed start with a small one

I’ve decided:

royal gramma
Flame hawkfish
Candy basslet

unfortunately my clown died this morning from brooklynella. That’s the 4th one to die from this disease so I’ve decided not to keep clowns anymore :(

so stocked in my 40g tank will be:

royal gramma
Flame hawkfish
Candy basslet
3 cromis
Leopard wrasse
Blenny

brook will be in ur system u need to eradicate it otherwise u risk all other fish dying and if u do get a candy basslet i would not want to risk that amount of money with a diseased tank

Its such a hard disease to get rid off. I can't use copper as I have inverts, and can't use formalin as its not available in the uk.

I have something called minnfinn: https://www.finestaquatics.co.uk/mi...Xb55InrI_tMzpAPTmWYVI-R8qFv1TFBhoCyWwQAvD_BwE

I added minnfinn yesterday and next dose is tomorrow, you add every 48 hours. Im just so annoyed because its so hard to get rid off.

Can I have a dory or a yellow tang?
Sure I had a SMALL blue hippo in a 40 just beware after a year they get bigger and start showing dominance in a small tank …you can even put 2 tangs if they’re small enough (I’m doing it right now go f yourself tang popo) and they get along fine they actually swim with eachother…I do have a aqua max hob skimmer but I’m planning on upgrading to a 150 in a year

Be careful not to dose any medications into the display tank …..
but as mentioned above . Adding other fish will not end well .
Doing the same thing without changing but expecting a different outcome sounds silly .

@vetteguy53081 or jay can help with procedures for adding other fish

The medication I have is reef safe and you add to the main tank.

Should you not want to treat the whole tank rather than just the fish as doesn't it stay within the tank. Treating the fish is fine but if its in the tank will it not just re infect the fish again?

I’m only assuming but similar to other parasites or infections . Once the system is ran for a period of time fallow . What ever the issue will eventually die off .

I have always read it’s not good to add any medication the display system
