What fish do you experts recommend for my current tank?

Hello everyone,

Looking to get some guidance. I have a 30 Gallon tank measuring 29 inches wide, 16 inches high and 12 inches going back in a rectangular shape.

I have a skimmer that handles up to 40g.

25lbs of live rock and a filter with a bag of porous rock for bacteria to grow on.

And a sandbed about 2 inches deep.

Currently housing 2 oc clownfish one large and one small paired and they have been doing their nightly dance for a while now. I have them hosting a medium sized bta green for about two months.

Also have a orange spotted sand sifting goby and a coral beauty.

As for the inverts I have a cleaner shrimp and 5 hermit crabs that are pretty small and 3 Astrea snails.

Looking to get some suggestions on if I could add another fish, and if so what do you all recommend?

Hmmm I wonder if it'll work, my goby is verrrrrry active and gets a little upset when my coral beauty goes around his cave area to peck at algae. Even seen the goby peck at the coral beauty one time when he was being all up in his face haha

You could do a couple cardinals, or a small basslet, or even a fairy wrasse. I haven't had any problems between sand sifting gobies and starry blennies getting along. Of course, I've only had the two together for a short time at the store.

Cardinals were at my LFS the other day, can the pj's be kept alone or should I get a pair? The banggais are cool too but I like the pj's better they looked cuter haha

Do wrasse need a lot of room to swim in? I thought my tank might be a bit tighter for one.

You can keep a single, no problem.

Got this little buddy today. You think I'll have room for a wrasse? I know the whole one inch of fish per five gallon isnt really a reliable measuring stick. I'm asking more as your experience or thoughts behind it!

You will need to test your water and watch the fish. If you want more fish, it would be a good idea to add some more live rock to the tank which would give the fish more territories and more filtration for your tank. If the fish start fighting, getting stressed, sick ect then it's probably not a good idea to add another fish. Take it slow. The next fish you add, you would do your testing to be sure the bio filter can handle the load and watch the fish for aggression ect. It's a process that we all go through with each addition - or should.

Yeah makes sense. I was going to wait about two weeks to add more fish, and this would be my last. Been a couple hours since the new addition of the Pj I have not noticed any disturbances yet. I will be watchful in the upcoming days and update you with info before I make a move for the fairy wrasse.
