What fish is the best swimmer ?

I’m sitting here watching my fish swim. And it got me to thinking. Which fish have you had that was the best swimmer ? I recently added a Achilles to my aquarium. It’s got the usual tangs. Yellow , tomini, brown , plus a bunch of other Varieties of fish. Yes I took the brown out for a month so the Achilles could get use to the aquarium. Now all the tangs don’t fight but they play a game of tag. The Achilles swims circles around the other fish. Almost like he is egging them on. Before I added the brown back in. The Achilles was just kinda lazy. Now they play tag, stops to eat nori for a few and back to the game. No one is biting or torn fins. It’s very interesting.

I have a blue throat in there too. Achilles swims circles around him. This guy is like a F18 fighter jet. Just darts thru the rocks. It’s pretty amazing to watch. Kinda surprised cuz he was super lazy.

My wrasse is super fast for his small size. The clownfish can never catch up to him when they're chasing each other. Overall. I do think that tangs have the best endurance and speed.

Not the best, but one of the coolest I had was a jet sea moth. I had him for about a year before he passed while i was on vacation a few years back. He used to swim against the current of a power head and let loose and glide across the tank. He also would swim into my hand to feed. I bought him, unaware of what he was for about 3 months because the guy i worked for (who's been in the aquarium business for 40 years) had never heard or seen one before. It was a learning curve, but certainly was a cool dude

Thanks for sharing your experience - that is interesting! The fins will usually tell the story of how a fish is designed to swim. Some are fast, others are agile or powerful, and so on.
