I have had my tank for 3 months now and I have 2 clown and 3 yellow tail damsels in it and a plate coral it's a 30 gallon tank I am wondering what fish I should get for it ?

Well you should consider taking the damsels out considering they become quite territorial once settled in if they aren't already. They kinda limit what you can get especially when you think about bio load in a 30g. You'll have to find something reef safe and compatible with your clowns at that point. A coral beauty angel might be a nice fit.

I've read that a Coral beauty needs a fairly significant tank to thrive. Specifically the info liveaquaria gives for these fish to be exact.

Is this true?

How about a opossum wrasse maybe a royal gramma. I personally wouldn’t put a Coral beauty in a 30g

I mean larger would be better for any fish but I have seen a lot of these guys in 30g tanks. I had one in a 55g for about 5 years. Looking around online you will see people have different opinions about it but 30g seems to be on the low end. They get about 4 inches long max. I always have to remind myself that most of the info we get is opinions and trial and error throughout the community. If you're not comfortable with it maybe you could find a smaller guy like a royal gramma or fire goby to add some color.

I wouldn’t put a coral beauty in a 30, and I probably wouldn’t put any more than you currently have in one either.

I agree the damsels should go

A coral beauty is a species of dwarf angelfish. They are reef safe with caution. They can start nipping corals. They like very established rock work because they pick at things on the rocks.

I would suggest a fire fish or a Bengai cardinal or a goby or possibly a blenny.

5 fish in a 30 gallon in 3 months is maxed out. Might not want to add anything at all. If you do only 1 more and wait a while before you even do that
