What fish should I get

Hi I’m new here and after going through the website I love the environment here. I’m 19 going to college at WSU and have been in the hobby for 5 years. I have a 30 gallon tank that has went through a crash when I was away at college. Sadly my family tried to kill all the bristle worms I had BY BOILING MY LIVE ROCK WITHOUT TELLING ME!!! Since then I have fixed everything in my tank. Some how my clownfish lived through all of this and is the only thing I have left. Recently I have bought a new CUC and want to know what other reefers favorite fish would be for a small aquarium.

Wrasse, dwarf angels, fire fish, dottybacks, chromis will all be fine for that size tank.

Thank you! I was thinking about a wrasse but I’ve heard so much about aggression and eating invertsAnd the same with dwarf angels. I also plan on getting coral again very soon and heard dwarf angels pick at corals

Some dwarfs pick at corals, others don’t. I had a coral beauty and it started to eat coral so I gave it away, yet my flame back is a model citizen.

I would advise against any dwarf angels and most wrasses in a 30 gallon. Smaller wrasses such as pygmy, pink streaked, six line, etc... would work.

Definitely for dwarf angels as they tend to get more aggressive as the tank size shrinks.

You should probably be looking at some of the more timid smaller species & the clowns with probably be the dominant fish. Maybe, cardinals, gobies or blennies, to start with.

I’ve got a 33gallon myself and love my mandarin, bicolour blenny and coral beauty, clownfish are being difficult and firefish are being a pain in the butt but otherwise it’s good. If you want photos I’ll link my thread https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/peach02’s-33g-reef.572548/

Only certain species of wrasses are super aggressive, there’s tons that are very peaceful tank mates.
I wouldn’t do the diamond goby, they get big and make sand storms all day.

Also I have bristle worms and I know they aren’t harmful to an extent but I would still like them gone. Is there any fish other than wrasses that eat them and are good for my soon to be nano reef

Arrow crabs will eat bristle worms.
Not many fish are consistent with eating them.

Howdy
Bristle worms multiply if you feed them. Try feeding your clownfish less food more often or just less food.
For fish look into nano fish. You can have more fish this way. Some are very colorful. Most will not hide unless you have an aggressive fish in the tank.
