Hi, this is my first salt aqurium I've been doing fresh for 4 years so I have a good amount of experience with aquariums. So I started a 55gallon marine tank with 70 lbs of live rock 50 lbs of sand and rodi water. It is already cycle 0 Pam ammonia and nitrites about 15 to 20 Ppm nitrates. I was wondering if
2clowns
2 cardinals
1 flame angel
1 firefish
1 royal gramma basslet
And a 6 line wrasse
Would work in my tank I've done a lot of reaseach on everything and my local lfs is pretty good(and of course quarantine)

Yes those fish would work. I would not put them all in at once though.

+1 on not adding them all at once. And those fish look good except if youre getting maroon clowns. Very aggressive and i had a pair that fought with my flame so bad i had to take him out. Id start by adding 1-2 fish every 1-2 weeks

They are ollcielous and no i am adding 1 fish every two weeks or so least aggressive first. But you said that these would work together

Also hoping to get an anemone later down the road when all the fish are in should I wait or get it now

Occellaris are great. And id wait until those nitrates are down before i added an anemone. If they die in your tank all your fish would probably die

Alright thank yyou all very much for your advice ill get the anemone last after the nitrates are down more

Why a 6line? They can get a little obnoxious.

First, hats off to you for making a stocking list on your first attempt in saltwater! I bought my first fish at the same time I bought my first bucket of salt...miraculously, it survived for quite a while.

+1 to adding the 6 line last. I'd probably do the firefish first, or at very least, second.

Like Roy 9121, I too wonder why the 6 line? They can definitely be interesting and are a good looking fish, but if you just want a wrasse there's are many more options that are less likely to be the bully.

My input would be the same as all the other. My 6-line is a little aggressive, I'm hoping that'll lessen when I go from a 20 to a 120 tank. I would personally do 2 fire fish. Well actually I wouldn't do any fire fish at all, just not a fan of them but if you are going to do one, I would say do 2. From my experience, they do better in pairs.

I had a 6 line a few years ago, he was not a bully and was actually a good tank mate. But i never though it was that interesting, there are a lot of prettier wrasses.

What other wrasse are not as aggressive but would still work in the 55 with other fish

I looked up the flasher they are buetiful fish need to do more research on them tho. I dont want anything aggressive or hard to care for so the flasher will work

Pink streaked wrasses are super cute and would be fine also.

Grammas can be aggressive too, I thought? Also make sure you have a lid for the firefish, they are jumpers. Banghai cardinals? They are nice
