Well I have had a bit of bad luck as of late fragging a Miami hurricane. Not sure why. I am wondering what glue you all use and all. I have cut mine and mounted them to frag plugs and normally they do fine but as of late I have had 3 frags look good for a couple days then i wake up and they are all dead. I am using IC GEL. if there is a better glue for chalices I would love to know.

i use boston aqua farms purple reef glue. havent had any problems thus far!

I use SuperGlue brand superglu Gel. $2 for 2 tubes from HomeDepot and it works great. Never had an issue yet.

Dude thats hilarious-I like the cig while working-Classic-

Makes me feel ok about my husbandry

Some chalices just don't cut well. Also, never use epoxy like Aquamend on a thin skeleton chalice frag. The heat from the curing epoxy will kill the tissue through the skeleton, IME.

Exactly. The putty will heat and hold something like 120f for a few minutes, even underwater. The guy from Intank(steviet) did an experiment with a temp probe and aquamend on another forum out of water, and underwater.

I use IC GEL too, but I also try and keep the glue off the freshly cut edges.

I try to keep it off of the new edge but I have had added losses lately. I have used it before. I am going to try to see what superglue gel does when I cut next. Does IC Gel have the heat that you all are talking about?

Also how much lugols do you put in to make your dip for the fresh cut frags? I am pretty new at fragging things so I have a ton of questions.

IC-Gel work great for me. I'm not a fan of using Iodine on fresh cuts, IMO it can be harsh. Clean SW should work just fine.
