What goby should I get?

I love the stonogobiops species! Never managed to get one of my own but from everything I’ve seen, they’re quite active, peaceful, and pair with pistol shrimps! They’re also very beautiful! Another great goby is neon/sharknose gobies, fun little guys. If you’re looking for something that’s also not your “traditional goby”, a firefish is a great choice for activity. That’s just my 2¢.

I had a firefish before. It somehow managed to jump out even though I had a lid on. I see neon gobies in my lfs all the time. They're quite pricey though

Man that stinks.... I always feared my firefish jumping but he decided to get velvet instead. Hands down one of my favorite fish. Super smart, always followed my finger and came to the glass.

If you have a sand bed.. get a sandsifting goby. Peaceful temperment and don’t bother any body.
...except corals. Mine has to cover a neon green cabbage coral sitting on the sandbed every day, and I have no idea why. It's also a grump, and stares me down whenever I sit by the tank, but it's certainly got loads of personality!

+1 on the firefish. I could stare (and often do) at my purple firefish for hours. They're spectacular.
