What GPH for parasites . Aqua Ultraviolet UV

What are you guys running on your Aqua uv for parasites in regard to GPH? I see the website has ratings that need to be converted.

What are you guys running on your Aqua uv for parasites in regard to GPH? I see the website has ratings that need to be converted.

This will depend on the UV, pump and head height, but with my AquaUV 57-watt/Sicce SDC 6.0 I'm running ~633Gph (adjusted for head height) - which is ~150,000 µw/cm2. The minimum for parasite control (sterilization) is 90,000 µw/cm2.

I have a Jebao 55w UV on my setup running a jebao 2500L (660gph) pump at about 50%. Roughly 300gph. It is my understanding you want longer exposure to the UV-Light with parasites than you need with bacteria, so slower flow to allow longer exposure to do more damage to the reproductive cycle of the parasites.

Curious what device are you using to measure GPH?
(hope you weren’t thinking Neptune flow monitor)

Curious what device are you using to measure GHP?

I am guestimating GPH based off Pump rating and the % of power I am running it at.

But I could find out exactly, if I care to replumb to incorporate Picture.

Ok because I had sicce pump 300 gph hooked up. I always wondered if I needed more push. I have the same theory that more contact time would help. But I started to notice salt creep would build up on the light hindering performance of the bulb and parasite contact time and effectiveness. My fish got hit hard with ich when I found this problem too late
