I'm sorry I'm kind new to this but what is hlle? I'm been feeding him ocean nutrition red marine algae. Should I feed anything else what what to do to get him back to normal? Tia

I kinda figured you would not know what it was, I was more or less asking the rest of the community what they thought. HLLE is head and lateril line errosion. Very common on tangs and activated carbon is becoming a suspect in its cause.
I don't think it is HLLE, if you are talking about that grey spot on the dorsal fin. HLLE typically starts in the face and slowly spreads down the lateral line. It looks more like an injury or finrot.

It not some kind of itch or velvet right. I had him down in my sump where ph probe and temp probe r places with drain PVC. Had him there for 6 days and the damages is visible since last night. I moved him back to my dt as I typed. I hope I made a good decision of moving him to dt. Thanks for your help

How long have you had the tang? It looks to me just faded stress spots pretty common in new fish. If you've had him a while look for something stressing him out. Look for voltage in your tank.
