What Happened To The Blue Spotted Jawfish?

I just got a custom lid for my JBJ 45 rimless and currently have no fish. The only fish I really want is a blue spotted jawfish. I had one a few years ago with a decent glass lid but he jumped through a 1” gap. Had him for a little over a year. But now, every LFS I call, and in South Florida there’s about 15, none have had any in months and no online store has any currently or has had any in a few months. What is effecting this?

I can't be completely sure, but it does seem like they are almost seasonal. Up until the past week, my LFS has had several of them regularly...it seems pretty standard. Not completely sure though.

DD gets them sometimes, Spring is the best time to pick them up. Unless one has its flashing colors it is hard to make sure you are getting a pair. Males will fight to the death.
