Hi reefers, about 4 months ago my pink lemonade colony started to show some bubbles. I thought it was maybe bacteria infections and dipped the whole colony several times already. Nothing changed but the bubbles are getting bigger...... The whole colony looks healthy and stays alive with happy PE for 4+ months since the 1st time I saw those bubbles...... No other SPS in that tank has the same issue. Just this colony....
Anyone knows what’s going one here? Thx.
Photos below.

I’ve seen this before, It resulted in death. Really hope yours pulls through!

kind of depends on whether the bubbles are 'hard' (growth) or 'soft' something else?

Very odd. Never seen that before. May growth?
No clue.... It's a multi branch frag when I bought like 2 years ago. Was growing normally before. Hope someone had similar situation can give some ideas.

Soft bubbles.
Interesting - I had this happen to a goniopora once. Do the bubbles come and go - i.e. sometimes the coral looks normal? With mine it was a 'negative' - it was the 'tissue' peeling off the skeleton without actually breaking the tissue. (dont know what caused it - but the coral eventually died). I hope its something different in your case

Very odd. I used to see a bounce acan in Calikid. It was a huge bubble but gone after few weeks. The acan was still alive tho. Mine always carries those bubbles since Feb. Was thinking it would die. These photos were taken yesterday. So far nothing shows it's dying..... PE looks healthy. Very weird.

Could be a bacterial infection within the tissue of the coral?
Was thinking the same. But dipped several times. And other SPS don't have this issue...

So could it be like a mushroom. I remember reading somwhere that people could mimic the bounce mushrooms basically by high intensity lighting hitting the regular mushroom and reacting with the vessicles likea . bounce mushroom? So could it be something like that? It would be very odd as usually they would bleach but maybe you are in that sweet spot where it is just the right amount of light to create soft bubbles?

There was a couple threads on this a few months ago. Iirc it resolved on its own.

actually I just read an article. What is your alk and calc at? From what this guy problem he had a bad batch of salt which messed up his alk which in turn made the tissue reproduce faster than the skeleton. He basically adjusted his chemicals and everything resumed back to normal.

The PAR is around 550-600. I borrowed a par meter from BRS before. Cal 420. Alk 8.0. Mg 1400. Phos 0.04. Nitrate around 10. Those were tested this morning if I remember correctly. No huge alk swing.
