what happens after the ugly stage

so i’m finally getting over the ugly stage. what happens next? is it just smooth sailing from here or should i be on the lookout for the next mountain to climb

"Always the pursuit of perfection --though, nearly impossible to arrive and maintain". That's how the hobby should be approached. If you're past the ugly stage, then you can think of that as the last predictable event. From this point forward, ups and downs will be a bit more random.

I agree with this, various ugly stages throughout the first year then the tank becomes much more stable and predictable.

There are Doldrums and Trade Winds before you but also Gale force winds, and possibly even hurricanes. No smooth sailing in reefing.
But have fun, hopefully you will mostly encounter Trade winds.
