Hi All,

I probably should have figured this out before I started this tank, but what do you do when you go on vacation? I have a 55 gallon with a CUC and 2 clown fish, no corals yet. In the past, with small freshwater tanks, I’ve just used an automatic feeder with flakes. But my clown fish eat frozen brine shrimp, how do I feed them?

How long are you going for? Your fish doesn't eat flakes or pellets?

Try to transition them to small pellet dry food before you go on vacation.
Then you can use an auto feeder. I have clownfish and that’s what I did for times that I’ll be gone for a week.

Worst case scenario, fish can go a long time without eating, I've gone on 7 day vacay's many times and fish are fine. They will eat pods and such when there's no other food.

I monitor tank parameters on Apex and have someone check on the tank and feed a couple of times a day. The Apex has really helped my paranoia. Lol. You can also install a webcam for live tank shots.

I also do a water change and test all parameters right before I leave. I also keep extra DI water around for emergencies.

You will need a ato. Ice cap makes a very good one. Cheap too.
