Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me to identify the species and the best method to kill these monsters...there are no obvious snots but I have problems with sand which I thought was due to either diatoms or cyano...tank is almost 2 years old and all of the sudden things started to turn brown.
I invested in microscope and unfortunately I haven't got windows to connect it to PC...so the best I could is phone photos
I think amphidinium but I'm not an expert(
Looks also as diatoms are there too
Sorry for fuzzy pictures but that's the best I could do atm

Thank you!

fantastic ID looks like diatoms but the truth is this

if you have a nano tank we can cure it regardless of ID, all you do is make the entire tank cloudless, no detritus and silt.

if its a large tank and not an easily cleaned/accessible nano, then tuning of nutrients and waiting a long time is the usual.

post the tank pics if you will, Im needing some fresh cure examples for another thread where we prove simply cleaning an accessible tank makes it uninvaded. so the problem isn't your invader, its the supports for it.

our tanks will always have invaders come n go, they either like to stay or they don't. we know how to make them go, consistently, if hand cleaning is possible.

thank you for your reply,
on other fish keeping forum member replied that I have cyano
part of a quote
"There are a few dinos there but no more than I would expect in a healthy reef. There does appear to be a shed load of cyano like organisms (The 2 and 3 cell long thin things). Everything is rimmed full of chloroplasts though which is in your favor."

I had some purple tint recently so could make sense

The tank is dark now so can't get the picture atm, but will do when I have a chance
PS. my tank is 8ft long with 7ft sump) floating reef with sps.... reaching everywhere for cleaning is an issue for a tiny woman but I manage just about )))

there may be less invasive ways of addressing it but the full tank shots give us unspoken details as well that might even help with water-only tuning actions. mainly where it locates, where it doesn't, on the glass (where there is no detritus) or on the rocks and sand or just one (where there is) we can see lots when pic time comes ok Ill check back

in some cases we can hand guide it out very simply with means such as cheap wooden dowel rod from home depot+taped to the end of a hose so its straight, and you just target siphon it out a few times + a little of sand n waste up under.

after a few sessions/stopped, depending on other details. the cross section portion of your sandbed we can see in the final pics factors into the overall as well.

if you have been repeatedly removing it and we see it as it stands in the pic that means something; if you've never removed it and we can see where it selects to be in the tank, and how much mass its had never been removed, that indicates other planning steps.
