What have I gotten into...

Sorry to hear that you went through so many issues. I think we all did in our first year. It only gets better with age

Welcome to R2R. That’s not a good introduction to reefing. But great that you are persevering. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Yo yo Conner, Welcome!
Big up on the tank rescue. Be patient, ask around here on R2R and you will build the knowledge and confidence to help that tank thrive. As a novice, I have no guidance to give. But I know you have found a great resource here!
Keep reefing hard yo!

Hello all,

My neighbor noticed my interest and convinced me to buy their well used aquarium. They had had it for several years and had lost interest. This was around the end of 2019. Over the last several months I have had quite the expedition through the world of saltwater aquariums. This included, but was not limited to, aiptasia, green-hair algae, red algae, bristle worms, replacing a protein skimmer, and a catastrophic leak that resulted in a hasty transition of five fish to a Q-tank while I attempted repairs. After all that, losing a Royal Gamma and a Coral Beauty, and much more, I knew it was time to make an account and start asking questions. I know there is no going back now, as I am invested and fascinated.

I plan to do a build thread and then post a thorough plan on how to deal with a massive aiptasia infestation here soon but, until then, I am glad to be a part of the R2R community.
welcome and I hope you stomp those invaders out of existence!
