finally got around to removing my old sump and installed the new one. while I had everything out I came to the decision to remove what little cheato I had left, so I decommissioned my refuguim.

Just starting my tank so this what I have done today.

-Purchased 44 lbs of fully cured live rock.
-Aquascaped the whole thing.
-Bought a new "Current ORBIT Marine LED" light system and installed. (this lighting system as awesome).

Just starting out so not much to report at this time but I think it's a good start. The rock has allot of interesting stuff on it even found about 12-15 Bristol Starfish (I believe that's what there called LOL)

Water change, dipped corals that have needed it and I have been slacking, cleaned some algae, tested the parameters, and that's about it, another fun day.

well the last two weeks have been no fun. I had a death In the family and during that time period had an ammonia spike which killed off a few acros. then last night found my new 20 gallon sump had cracked; luckily I had the old sump and removed the new one and Installed the old one.so now I'm left saying what next?

What caused the ammonia spike?

the only thing I can think of would be the silicone I used in the baffles on the sump. I'm still trying to figure out what cracked the sump?

Are the baffles acrylic or glass, if they are acrylic, it's very likely they caused the tank to crack if they were tightly fit; If I'm not mistaken, cheaper acrylic absorbs water and swells.

Over dealing with the hair algae. Just swapped out all the stock white led on my reef breeders proton 32. For 10k and 20k leds. And 4 blue add and removed the reds.
