What heater for a 55g?

I prefer EHEIM Jager brand... there are oodles of options. BRS has heater video.

FYI many will say replace whatever you get annually as part of annual maintenance, since if it breaks in on position can be very catastrophic... so whatever you get, next year get another...

Not related to this thread, but could 2 of these work for a 55?
I was recommended 2 smatfarm lights for a 55 and I am looking for other opinions
 
I use a 150w Fluval heater on my JBJ 65. Ambient temp in the room is 68* and looking at the chart on my Neptune, the heater is running about 40% duty cycle to keep the tank at 77.8*
 
I don't know that there is a single heater that I really trust. The surest way to avoid problems is a 3 heater system. Figure out how much heater you need, divide that by 2, then buy 3. By doing that any one heater can fail on or off without any I'll effect on the tank.

Lastly plug them all in to one heater controller such as an inkbird. Set the inkbird to the temperature you want and the heaters 1 or 2 degrees above that (if they have a built in t-stat)
