I want a heater that will fit in the bottom of the first chamber. I found 1 on eBay from a seller but it ended up being defective (showing error for being out of water even when fully submerged). I’ll be sending it back but can’t find any more of the same heater anywhere. I am finding small heaters that will work but they are “always on” without a built in thermostat. Many people claiming that their fish get cooked.

What do you Pico guys use that fit into tight spaces?

I’ve found another that will fit and has internal thermostat.

It’s the Top Fin 20 watt. This heater is even smaller than the Nicrew but 5 watts more. Dimensions on the Top Fin in description says 3.5”x1.5”. The Nicrew is 3.9”x2.9”. I could most likely even fit 2 of the Top Fin heaters below the media basket. Couple that with an InkBird and I’ll be good to go.
Next I’ll order an MJ606 to improve flow without needing a powerhead in the display area. Shooting for all equipment in the filter compartment and return area.

I use the Marina C10 for my 2 gallon. It isn't adjustable, but has a thermostat set at 78. I've been using it for the past 6 months and it seems to hold the temperature within 0.1 degrees. It looks like they also make a C17 and C25 if you want something larger for the 5 gallon.

Thanks, I did look at the C10 but it’s a little long for the compartment without sticking into the return pump compartment.

This Top Fin heater looks promising for fitting. I’ve got 3 coming in. If 1 is enough then I’ll have 2 spares. But if I need 2 I think both will fit down there.
