What (if any) fish eat Xenia?

I allowed a rock into my tank with some xenia on it (and the zoas I actually wanted) and now it is spreading like wildfire. Are there any fish out there that eat it? Simple way to kill it? Do not really want to nuke my entire tank with chemicals if I don't have to.

If you can source one there is a crab that harvests and lives in xenia..that way you get a cool addition that controls the xenia

It's a weed. A somewhat attractive weed... kinda like a dandelion... and just as hard to get rid of.

There are lots of critters that will pick on it (camel shrimp, for one), but none that I'm aware of that will irradiate it.

The only way to get rid of it I'm aware of is to pull the rock it's on, bleach, power wash, and try again. I know, that's not what you were wanting to hear... sorry 'bout that

How large is the system?
But i dont think theres a fish that would “only eat the xenia”.

Like some less reef safe butterflies or angels like generalists chetadon butterflies or a koran angel as examples.

But, big but... will probably also eat the corals or clams you want.

Best bet in my opinion would be some selective rock scrubbing. Pick a rock scrub it, dip in 6% h202, rinse. Move to another rock. Slowly making islands of xenia rocks so dont have to do entire tank at once.
