What in Tarnation

I've got these whitish/tan egg sac lookin' things growing in my tank, they're discrete and don't seem to be a problem but here's a picture of them on my overflow. Anyone know what they are?

pineapple sponges. supposedly good filter feeders.

Second that they are pineapple sponges. They are hrmless outside of possibly being an annoyance if they get into skimmer pumps, etc. Other then that, they are harmless.
