I found them on the side of the rock my scolymia is on. They are very little.

They almost look like feeding tentacles from a cyphastrea of sorts!!!

I have had purchased live rock before and noticed similar little corals. I was told they were cup corals as well.

i see skeletons like those all the time, but Ive never seen them alive.

frag them off, give them some room, and see what you've got in a few week.

sweet find....and good eye.

I hae tried fragging them off in the past. Have lost them all after a while. I dont think i lost them due to being cut....it hink I lost them due to the fact they like being down in the rocks not exposed so much

A piece of rock I had one time had a coupel hundred of them on it tightly together. I thought it ws pretty cool I had it for quite w while. Then I moved it so it coudl be seen more instead of kind of out of sight and the colony receded until nothing but skeleton left

with that being said, I say let it be somewhat in the shadows

Wait i just googled cup corals and they are basically sun corals?? Sweet. These are out all the time. Even my dendros aren't out all the time like it's suppose to.

There's more now on that frag disk since i fragged it so it's grown some. I'm pretty sure they will sting another coral, but my scolymia seems to get along with it.
