I’m at a loss. So I’m talking about the little heads under the zoa frag. About 6 months ago I had a little piece of red plating montipora in that exact spot. It broke off and left just a little lip of it still glued onto that rock. I ended up putting the zoa basically on top of it.

Over the past few months I still saw a bit of the pink left on the rock where the montipora was, but now I’m seeing tiny little heads. I thought it was my zoa maybe sprouting new heads but it’s not even connected to where these are yet. Is the montipora coming back? I didn’t think they grew like this with tiny heads. Any ideas?!

Kind of looks like cyphastrea, I’ve never seen a monti with polyps that large.
