What in the world is my toadstool doing? (pics)

It was not extending its polyps for about 2 weeks. It finally did a few days ago and every time I look at it its twisting around all kinds of weird ways.. Heres some pics of what I mean.

This morning to took the third pic and now its back to what it was in the first pic.. is this normal? what's going on!

I've had them close up for weeks or even months when shedding the outer layer. They'll develop a kind of waxy, shiny look to them for a while. Looks like it isn't inflating fully, what kind of light and flow do you have it in?

I have 2 AI Hydras over a 4 ft tank. I have them turned down now since im fighting Dinos - about 20% of max with AB+
To be honest im not sure how I can measure flow but I have my return pump at about 8x tank volume and 2 MP40s at 30%
