What in the world is this Goni doing!?

Anyone want to take a shot at what this Goni is doing? Normally the ball is half this size with 4-5” long polyps. There is a normal smaller red one next to it.

No, it gets ReefRoids twice a week and I feed pretty heavily. Weird though.

The LFS feeds their Gonis greenwater daily. I followed suite and have had success. I've tried two powdered coral foods and they didn't seem to satisfy. Perhaps different species have different requirements.

Thanks for the response and thoughts. Hard to say what it was doing. Ill post what it looks like when i get home. I have three different goni's and all have been doing very well and growing. But as those of us that have been in the hobby a long time know, they do seem to do well until they start to deteriorate.

I’m confused, you think the Goni on the right that is larger and more puffy is starved?
wouldnt it be receding instead of puffy if it were starved?

The picture available to me is only a snapshot so I don't know how the animal has changed over time. But I can definitely state this - Many Goniopora specimens perish due to chronic malnutrition.
