I am curious as to the intensity people keep their lighting at. I have a Hydra 32 on a 32 gallon tank. I started with the parameters recommended by BRSTV, keeping blues and violets a little over 100% and whites around 60%. But my zoas started to melt and bleach out. I then turned them down to 85% blues and 50% whites. This still seemed to high for the corals. I now have them at 60% blues and 30% white and that seems to be the sweet spot. The zoas started to open again.

Where do you keep your lighting and did you ramp it up over time?

I have Xr15 radions and run them at overall 60% intensity, but 100% blues and purples, barely any white (I think 5%), and around 20% red. I've always kept them at that ever since I started my tank.

I grew tired of intensity manipulation lol bought 4 orphek or3 bars

Interesting. I thought whites were needed for healthy coral growth. But your 60% intensity makes me feel better at my settings. I think I had way too intense light.

I mean really this question is going to have so many answers I’m not sure the data will be useful at all. The brand and type of lights people have, the number of lights, the size of the tank, the type of corals they are keeping will all vary that number.

It’s like asking “When you drive, how far do you push the accelerator?”

Personally i've read that white tends to foster more algae growth. Have had great success with this lighting.
