What is a good auto water changer

I was going to buy the autoaqua awc but noticed it is discontinued. What do you guys use? I don’t have an apex and don’t intend on getting one in the near future what are some other good options?

I use an: AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro Automatic Top Off System

I've used duetto, but my auto aqua has lasted longer. If you dont have a sump id consider: XP Aqua Sumpless ATO

In essence you would be auto topping off with salt water. As in set the sensor, empty out the dirty water, place the pump into your salt water jug and turn it back on.

Reeeeeally? That would be awesome. I always thought the controller was a little antiquated. Can I ask where you heard this?

Saw it on their Facebook page in the comments section about it not sure if it’s true but I’d like to believe so since they didn’t comment otherwise. So I’m assuming people have inquired and got answers from them.

I know u said u didnt want an apex / dos, but I have had great luck using that combo for auto water changes. I thought it sounded like a stupid idea at first but now am a firm believer in it! So much easier and so much better for the tank! Auto changes has taken a lot of stress away from having a reef tank for me. I'm sure what ever u go with will be better than doing manually but just wanted to mention what has worked so well for me.

I don’t know if I’d say less expensive. Isn’t the AUTOAQUA AWC a little over $200?

Also, looking at the design and the equipment (and the reviews on BRS) of the AutoAqua AWC, it is not surprising the system is discontinued.

I’m considering just keeping a calibrated dosing pump for water changes. Not buying an apex to get auto water changes. Can get a lot of nice fish/coral for that cost. And I don’t like the idea of the whole system hanging in the balance of the apex crashing or not.

Used a GHL 2.1 Standalone 2 headed doser for my AWC for a year and a half before I took the tank down. Will be setting it up in the near future again on my larger build, Simple to program and calibrate then just let it do its thing. It also has the added benefit of being able to tell you approximately how much is left in your salt water reservoir.
