hello,
i am going to build a new aquarium
but i am not sure the type of glass i should use
what dose redsea use for glass ?
found some glass but don't know why is the best
optiwhite low iron glass
optifloat heavy clear
optifloat clear

some has reflection and some not and like this
how to get the best thing?

Low iron glass will scratch easier because its softer but it is much more clear.
Some may say not enough to the naked eye to warrant the extra cost and danger of easily scratching but hey....beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....or maybe just different ratios of rods and cones ;)

I don't what type is better. I specifically ask my tank builder about low iron glass scratching easier. This was a huge concern for me. They stated that their ultra clear glass doesn’t scratch easier than regular glass. They also stated they haven’t had any customers complaining about scratches on their ultra clear opposed to their regular. Most customers will opt for the ultra clear/low iron on the viewing panels and do regular on the back. I did a bunch of reading before deciding on low iron glass. I read conflicting opinions on how easily low iron scratches. Some would say it does scratch easier. And some would say right the opposite. I know I did not want any type of glass that would scratch easily. I’ve had an acrylic tank and it sucked. You could look at that thing Wrong and it would scratch. I sure hope the tank builder was right. I’ve yet to use a magnet cleaner on it, so I can’t say if it’s true or not.
