I have had 3 cleaner shrimp and 2 peppermint shrimp disappear in my tank. I had them for many months and some up to a year with no issues. I did not think I had any predatory fish. Here is the list of my tank inhabitants:

Foxface
Blue Tang
Tomini Tang
clown fish
Carpenter wrasse
Cleaner wrasse
Bangaii Cardinal

I have a Sexy shrimp that still lives. He will come out on the front rock and do a dance. So I am not sure why he has made it.
The only other thing I have in the tank is hermits, snails, and maybe a Emerald crab (not seen him for many months)

Any ideas what is happening to them?

Interesting. I didn’t think they would eat shrimp. I have had him since day one and he has never caused an issue before.
Supposedly they are known to under certain conditions. I don't have any shrimp so I can neither confirm nor deny - just relaying what I was able to find out.

How long did you have your shrimps? They may not live very long and could just have died because of old age.
I never saw my fox face attacking anything. Plus shrimps hide in tiny places, that fox face cannot reach.
Just giving ideas.

4 of the 5 shrimp I had only had for 7-8 months. They all seemed to disappear close to each other. I am fairly certain something had to have attacked them.

There's a possibility that they just died for other reasons
