What is everyone doing quarantine wise?

Most LFS, not necessarily just Knoxville, do not have a QT process. The responsibility is that of the hobbyist.

your right, not to mention the fact if they did that it would be weeks before the fish would be available for purchase. And they would have to charge even more for the fish, then no one would buy them if they got any more expensive. Majority of people buy online anymore.

As for me, my current tank no i don't QT, I am with SLUF with that one. But the new system will have a 120gallon system that is stacked so i can QT ALL new fish in different small 10gallon tanks, and a 50 long on top for tangs, just simply because of the money and size of the new system (even though I will look for any excuse to get into the new one) lol.

So like you said Justin, its really up to the person who purchases the fish.

I don't think it's true that the majority of people buy online. I think a lot of people buy some stuff online but would rather get their fish from a local fish store. Sure it's more expensive but you can't put a price on being able to see a fish with your own eyes and knowing that it's healthy...knowing that it was eating THAT day.

I do think there is a difference between a $5.00 fish and a $50.00 fish. I think a lot of people would be willing to pay a little extra for an expensive fish if they can see it and watch it eat. Its also a gamble online unless you are buying wyswyg. I am not sure that it would cost the LFS that much more to hold fish for a couple weeks. You also have to factor in the relationship you want to build with your customer if they are buying higher end fish. If they are really investing in a hobby they are more likely to be a return customer.
