Are they expensive?? How big are they because I only have a 6 gallonGranular Ferric Oxide - it's granular rust, absorbs phosphates.

Last time I check they were high but haven't checked them recently but I only do like 25% every weekman. if i only had a 6 gallon.
cost prohibitive to use gfo imo. especially when you can do an 80+% water change with a 5 gallon bucket.
gfo and phosguard can both lower phosphates. question is. what do they read?

ikr.My total system volume is around 210-220g. I'm telling you, a 6g tank would scare the crap out of me. I'm confident I'd kill it off. In my own inexperience, it seems like much more of a degree of difficultly.
Do you have a picture of the filter bag that I can buy to put in one of my chambersWell, in my opinion, there's a couple ways to use it - a passive way, and an active way. The passive way is just to put some in a filter bag and set it somewhere in ones sump. The active way is to either put in in a reactor, or, somewhere in direct flow.
Do you have a sump, or overflow area where you can place a mesh bag with a tiny amount of GFO in it? At 6g, you won't need hardly any. Might want to see what the experts say on use of GFO in a system that small.....
ThanksOften, a bag will actually come with the GFO.
