What is going on with our tank?

This just started a few days ago and is really starting to spread.. It first started on the rock with a neon green spots and now is on the glass. Nitrate and Nitrite are perfect. Ammonia is 0. Any ideas

looks like its cycling it is coraline algae new rock goes from brownish to green then pink and purple

If this tank has been set up for awhile i think that you may have excess nutrients in water column. That can be from overfeeding of fish or corals. Also you need to check phosphate level also. Do you use ro water?

Stuff on the glass looks like Green Dust Aglae.

Yes we are using RO water, temperature runs at about 77.4 on average with .2 fluctuation here and there.

scrub it off, then do a water change. repeat of necessary, it doesn't look like it's a terrible outbreak. it also looks like a new tank

nothing crazy just a bloom, whip out some turbo snails and magnetic scrubber and you'll be fine

It is a fairly new tank, just over 2 months old now. Not to change the subject but like I said we have been testing our water religiously and everything is great, even took to the lfs to double check and said they said it was great. Our snails though lately have been looking a little lame, thier shells look pitted if that makes sense. Could this be from lack of algae? It seems to be affecting the margarita snails slightly and the cerith snails mostly. The astrea snails still look great. I'm at a loss, can't find anything on this other than calcium shortage...

What are your paremeters?

2 months is not fairly new, it is very new. A tank does not become mature until at least a year has gone by.

0 nitrate
0 nitrite
450 calcium
ph was tested at lfs but he didn't give me # said it was dead on though... waiting for my test kit to come so unfortunately that is the only one i can't test at home because lfs was out.

just an added note, we have 3 peppermint shrimp in there as part of our clean up crew and I know they don't do well in poor water conditions, they have been thriving and all three have molted since being put in the tank.

Not being smart - looks like a normal new tank to me. Regular water changes are most important.

What are phosphate levels? My tank did this.. Phosphates were through the roof..

I will check my phosphates at the lfs or see if I can get a kit. Thanks for the advice! If it is my phosphates, what is a good phosphate remover?
