What is going on?

its just solid.

Based on the amnt of work you are doing rejecting invasion, and mass, can you imagine how your tank would look if you simply did nothing to it for 18 mos straight? it'd be a total headache. The guiding you are doing reduces in time, if you keep the sinks and rocks this clean, simple as that. I think the least impactful thing you could do without major change, to lessen some work, is get them lights/whites back down just a bit and ramp back up. even without it, a bit more guidance and you'll be good in my experience and seemingly others here too.

Thank you all! You guys are the best! Here a fts.
Tomorrow is sps shopping day.

Renato big question for me here

is any of that rock moved, formerly invaded by rhodophyta live rock that was zapped clean? if not my feelings aren't hurt too badly lol

but if so I have a happy dance emoji somewhere.

Nope! They were dry rocks when I got it. I just got some live rocks for this tank. But they are nice and clean.

( R and I had worked on some other tanks in the past that's all I was playing on)

When we look at your rocks, substrate, corners of the tank, edges of the corals, we don't see a clouded mess of powdery growth, cyano, diatoms blanketing everything and this is a big deal. ever allowing that makes a tank pump it for a long time...your issues being isolated only to the walls make such as statement about your overall care here, it is the sole reason your work will decline in time and not increase.

When new tank keepers practice hands off reefing, they risk one community of invader supporting another. take for example this light green micro algae growth, if left to blanket everything you own, its clear to see how that sets up some protections, and feedings, for cyano and anything else that happens in as well...controlling one is controlling the rest in succession. If you had permitted diatoms to take over, they'd be supporting the algae and cyano in their insulating mats as well, plugging live rock changing bacterial competition, storing nutrients as feed, all shared invaders as allowed by the keeper and their care choices. You simply chose a different path and we can see it in the fine pic details.

I agree that a 'don't panic' solution is best right now. You really impacted different operating parameters during the change, wait it out for a week and see what happens. I would focus on the livestock and ensure they're not feeling any ill effects.
