what is going on

the pellets i make sure he eats them. i have floating ones so i watch him eat them all, so i know its not that. i guess tomorrow ill pick up phosphate remover and stir up the sandbed and do a 10g water change. will my zoas survive until then?
If I said no would that change anything? Sometimes it's hard to tell zoanthids not to stress out, that the water change will come tomorrow. Things take time. Cross your fingers they survive.

tank looks like a gallon of milk was poured into it. mixed the sand up real well and did a 10g water change right after. added Seachem Phosguard, as that was what they had. 1/3 of a cup for 50g was on the directions so i just did 1/4 cup and placed it in the back. thanks for the help guys. ill get my water tested tomorrow afternoon to see how everything went.

I wouldn't put any additions of calcium or alkalinity in my tank unless I was able to test right before I dosed and then an hour after I dose.

Also, do you have any LPS or SPS? When I first started an only had softies, weekly water changes were able to keep my cal, alk, mag relatively stable.

just wanted to update u guys with my parameters.

alk 8.0
cal no 400
mag 1200
salt 1.025
nitrate 5
phosphate .1

phosguard has been working. some coral has been opening up more. my lakers are still a little shakey so i did a 50/50 peroxide dip for them and am waiting to see how that turns out

Your alk is changing again. You need to start dosing as it seems it is fluctuating. It is nice to see your po4 dropping. :)

Usually a softy or LPS tank can handle the alk swings but to see a stable tank thrive, is well worth it. IMO

i fragged up some zoas a week ago and yesterday i noticed two arent looking good at all. none of the zoas themselves were actually cut, just the rock underneath them. theyre starting to deteriorate and idk why, or what to do. i dipped them yesterday and did a water change after i noticed the ones in the first pic like this, now i woke up and some on a second frag are looking like this.

params are:
alk - 7.8
cal - lfs didnt have it they ran out
mag - 1320
salt - 1.024
nitrate - 30
phophate - .5

help please.

yea u are right. i will see whats up with it and if i can get a cheap ro machiene
I'd recommend spectrapure and nothing cheaper than bulk reef supply RO/DI. If you are looking at an RO buddy, you are just wasting time and money.

I agree, without RODI your wasting your time, and your going to have nothing but algea and headaches.
