What is growing on my clam?

Not sure what's going on here, only one if the clams has it. Don't mind the hair algae on it, I kinda like it as it makes it look like the clam has hair, all it need now it a pair of googly eyes lol

They kinda resemble a type of hydroids...
 
Should I just ditch the clam? Should I worry about it? Don't see them anywhere else.
Typically they can be a nuisance. Probably stinging the clam but eventually they should go away. They only stick around because of over feeding or high nutrients. I would just work on reducing food and trying to get nutrients down without major swings.

I'm with Bruce on this. So long as the clam is not attached to a large portion of your rock-work, clean it off outside of the DT. If firmly attached you can clean in-situ.
