This is my first and only Favia. It has been in the tank for over 6 months now and was one of my first corals. There was a time where it was not doing very well, but I finally found a spot in the tank that it seems to love. It’s bigger, brighter, and fluffier than it has ever been. But since I moved it here it started growing this large white bump on its skeleton. I want to think that it’s growing new heads, but I haven’t found anything else showing something like this.

Looks like a sponge.

Looks like what is sometimes called a pineapple sponge - I don't believe it will hurt anything, but might inhibit growth in that area. Also, you've got acans there - beautiful coral!

I did think they were acans as well!! Thank you for confirming for me. The LFS had them labeled favia and took me right to them when I asked for Favia lol , must have been a new guy like me.
