What is growing on my GSP

Ive had this GSP since March and yesterday I noticed something growing on it. Anybody got an ID?

Looks like a pineapple sponge. Harmless but probably irritating the gap. Should be pretty easy to remove.

Do i just remove it with my fingers? How do i do so without harming the gsp

GSP is very hardy. I would not be too concerned. Carefully brush off with a toothbrush or you can use tweezers.

Very harmless. These are short lived and will dissipate as silicates reduce. You can peel them off with the edge of a credit card into a net if they are too many
They are not harmful and cherish algae if they get any

As a side note, I had an explosion of these in my tank around month 7 or 8. I manually removed ones growing too close to my corals. After that they just kind of went away on there own. They only exist in my sump now.

Agreed with Vetteguy. They will die back naturally as the silicates are used up in your tank. Also, the others that grow in your sump or areas that aren't on top of the coral will "outcompete" the ones you brush off.
