What is growing on ROCK?

Hey all no idea what this is growing on ROCK? Beginning of coraline or algae , spots showing up slowly and some rocks have yellow tint. Any ideas

Looks like both. Normal for fresh "dead" rock.

If the pink stuff doesn't come off the rocks with ease then it's probably Coralline algae. If it does, then it's most likely Cyanobacteria. The yellowish brown stuff might be Diatoms.

Didn't know if coraline could come on rock so quickly . Tank has been up for almost 2 months . I had a small phase of diatom that disappeared after 3 days and now I have a bigger diatom. The rock is BRS reef saver .

looks like diatoms to me. possibly some coralline but not sure if that is the lighting

They can. I had coralline showing on all of my rocks at the 4 week mark.

Glad to hear that , 2 months might even be exaggeration . Maybe it is coralline , I guess we will see
