What is growing :( or :)

Hi Everyone,

I have some bright green stuff growing on my rocks and hoping for good news and not bad news stuff. Anyone care to let me know what it is and hopefully good stuff.

I think it came with some new Astra's I bought even though I scrubbed them with isopropyl alcohol.

Start of algae growth. It'll get worse as time goes on.

Yeah. Normal algae. Honestly surprised it didn't show up sooner. It will get worse, but then, if your tank stays healthy, it should mostly go away except on the glass.

You should read about tank cycling. This is a normal part of the cycling process that every new tank will (and should) go through.

Looks like green coralline algae which is good stuff. Otherwise it’s just micro-algae which is also good.

Aldo UV has no effect in anything that does not flow through it.
