What is growing on the red leaf?

Looks like hydroids. Some claim they can be a nuisance...I've never had any problem with them.

I think it depends on the type. You can take them out with kalk paste or aiptasia-x. Personally, I'd just watch them and only remove them if they are bothering other tank inhabitants.
