What is happening??

Got these guys Thur. Acclimated for an hour. Put in tank, They both closed up almost instantly. Next morning the one that was latched on the rock, Jumped off
and both of them were covered in a whitish clear film. The films fell off about an hour later. they pretty much stayed that way all day yesterday.
This morning........... (one is a rose BTA. the other is a Green BTA)

What are your water levels? Alk, Ca, Ph, and so on
What lights are you using?

Tank has been up about 2 months total, cured the used live rock for 40 days.
water tests fine, myself and LFS
Lights are current usa leds blue and white

what type of led lights??? are they able to be dimmed? if not, could you shade the area of the tank they are in??
For water levels... what are you and they considering fine... Nems are sometimes a touchy bunch like children...

yes those lights can dim, I have them myself. I am not sure they are strong enough for a nem though. I think each led is .5 watts.

Just got back with more testing kits.

results:
nitrate=10 ppm
nitrite=0 ppm
KH=180 ppm
PH= 8.1

Are you using API Test Strips?

I did get test strips (tetra). Don't think they're accurate though. All tests except PH
were taken with Api drops.

I always thought nems needed tanks that were "mature"; two months might be too new. And IDK how long "mature" actually is but I waited a year. GL

Yeh I found that out this morning. Say 6 months is about right to add enms.
I did cycle my 15 yr old live rocks for 40 days. Guess I should have waited
longer, allthough the enm is looking better tonight. Lost the rose enm though:sad:
